Pump Up in the morning...

He (A) excitedly shared : When you want to top up your petrol, you must do so in the morning.

Me : Huh? Why? Less crowd?

A : Possibly so. But more importantly when we top up our petrol, we are paying by volume pumped. In the early hours of the morning, the temperature is cooler. Hence the petrol is more dense. You don't know meh? Heat causes volume to expand. So, the petrol in the hot afternoon is expanded more and therefore less dense. This is no good.

A continued : Don't even think of topping up your petrol in the late evening. The ground has a poor heat capacity. It takes a long time to cool down. So only pump up in the morning. You can feel it one. Try it.

Me : Orh.

I just pump up anytime, anywhere. But my senses can't feel a difference leh. But what being shared seems logical and scientific hor? In view of the escalating petrol prices, maybe I shall also try to pick up this (slightly) more economical habit. I think can save a few mililitres per full tank ba. Haha..
