An idea just crossed my mind. Nothing new actually. I heard it somewhere before. Just that this morning, it resurfaced. What's the idea? ...

If you had committed 100* (just a representation of a big number) bad deeds, and that is to be followed by 1 good deed, you are considered a hypocrite. However, if you had done 100* good deeds, and that is to be followed by 1 bad deed, many people will (only) remember the bad you have done, almost negating all the good you have done. How strange?

People like to judge. Very often they like to judge others and not themselves. Heh.. It seems like people remember the bad more easily than remember the good in others. There are exceptions to this rule of course. The exception seems to apply exclusively to their loved ones maybe.
